Trucks of rice relief reach Naga—PBBM

Four trucks of rice have reached Naga, Camarines Sur on Sunday morning, Oct. 27, to aid families heavily affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, President Marcos said.

The rice relief came from the National Food Authority (NFA) and Food Terminal Incorporated (FTI), according to Marcos.

He added the rice relief was sent following his directive to continue sending help to Bicol Region, which was heavily hit by the typhoon.

"Early this morning, four trucks from the National Food Authority and Food Terminal Incorporated arrived in Naga to help families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine," Marcos said on Sunday afternoon.

"Right now, it's about making sure families in Camarines Sur have what they need to begin getting back on their feet. By air, land, or sea, we'll keep the support coming," the President added.

During his visit in Naga City over the weekend, Marcos said systems are in place to help Bicolanos affected by the severe tropical storm.

“Mayroon naman tayong sistema para tulungan lahat yung mga naging biktima (We have a system to help all victims of the typhoon). And all of that is in place,” he said.

More than 380,000 individuals were affected by typhoon Kristine in Bicol Region, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.

Of this, more than 12,600 individuals or 3,100 families were displaced and temporarily staying at 306 evacuation centers.
