Over 50 small children were dressed up in Saints costumes during the All Saints’ Trick-or-Treat event of a homeowners’ association in Parañaque City on Saturday, October 26.
Peter Pardo, president of the Southern Square Homeowners’ Association in Better Living Subdivision, Barangay Don Bosco, Parañaque City, said the event aimed to educate the youth by reintroducing the Saints into the Halloween celebration.
Pardo said the children were taught that by honoring our saints, the heroes of our faith, we can follow their good examples in our day-to-day lives.
He said the event would also keep the children away from traditional creepy costumes during Halloween.
The homeowners’ president said the children had fun with the Trick-or-Treat tradition of going around the village to receive candies and gifts from the residents.
Pardo said that before the activity started, Fr. Noel Sumagui conducted a blessing for the participants.
