Tulfos donate P8-M worth of relief goods to 'Kristine'-hit Bicol

According to the senator, they are also aided by volunteer students from the Ateneo Law School and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members of the second district of Quezon City.

At the Barangay Hall of Batasan Hills, boxes full of relief goods were repacked by staff and volunteers. The goods include rice, noodles, bread, biscuits, coffee, milk, and canned goods.

Senator Tulfo's office estimated that the relief goods purchased totalled around P8 million, with over 5,500 packed as of Friday, Oct. 25.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, the relief packs were set to be turned over to the Philippine Coast Guard's (PCG) logistics team, for distribution to the citizens of the Bicol region affected by the tropical cyclone.

Kristine in its wake claimed the lives of 81 people and dealt P291.5 million in damage to the country’s agriculture and infrastructure sectors.

Calabarzon (Region 4A) had the most number of reported fatalities at 48, including at least 18 who were buried alive in a landslide in Talisay City, Batangas. It was followed by the Bicol region (Region 5), which had 28 deaths.
