A FARMER and his son were electrocuted in Iligan City on Oct. 24.

Iligan City Police Station 3 chief Police Major Rodulfo Arañador identified the victims as Bryan, 27, and Jasper Renegado, 9, student, both from Barangay Digkilaan here.

Police said the victims were on their way home after delivering coconut wine when they lost balance of their motorcycle and hit a live wire on the side of the road. They were electrocuted and died on the spot.

Police said the area is isolated. It is 20 kilometers away from the main road and has a rough road that only 4x4 trucks can travel. The area also has no internet or Wi-Fi signal, police added.

Regenado’s wife said she prohibited her son from going to school due to the weather. The boy instead went with his father in delivering coconut wine.

She said they were supposed to celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary on Oct. 30 when he died. She said they planned to bring their two children to the city to celebrate the event.

The victims' bodies were taken to a funeral parlor here.
