Batangas landslide victims identified

TALISAY, Batangas – Authorities have identified the 18 fatalities of a landslide in Barangay Sampaloc here on Thursday, Oct. 24.

The victims were Isidro Galupe, Princess Jamela Galupe, Dindo Galupe, Ace Gabriel Galupe, Lian Kiel delos Santos, John Paul Vargas, Evelyn Vargas, Jose Ramy Villariez;

Salve Bombales, Maria Reynabel Dejucos, Prince Renzji Dejucos, Renz Joco Dejucos, Sean Joross Dejucos, Jack David Dejueos, Mary Rose Villariez, Sarah Cardinio, Eunice Sophia Cardinio, and Marcky Magbuhos.

The victims were inside their houses when the landslide triggered by a flash flood spawned by severe tropical storm “Kristine” occurred. Their bodies were taken to the barangay covered court.

Rescue and retrieval operations are ongoing.
