Water levels, especially in the Laguna Lake shoreline area in Muntinlupa, rose as “Kristine” dumped heavy rains.

Of the total, 286 families or 48.47 percent were evacuated in Barangay Poblacion and are staying in four evacuation centers: Barangay Poblacion covered court, Muntinlupa Elementary School, Muntinlupa Evacuation Center and NHA Biazon covered court.

The city government recorded 80 families in evacuation centers in Barangay Putatan. They are staying at Putatan Elementary School, barangay covered court, South Greenheights Village covered court and Bruger Subdivision covered court.

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon visited the evacuation centers. The city government provided the evacuated families with assistance, including meals.

There are also breastfeeding areas, medical teams, pet areas, sanitation facilities and charging stations at evacuation centers in Muntinlupa.

Biazon thanked frontliners, city government employees, barangay officials and national agencies for their work during the onslaught of “Kristine.”

“Salamat po sa ating mga teams sa kanilang agarang serbisyo para masigurong ligtas ang lahat (Thank you to our teams for their prompt service to ensure that everyone was safe),” said Biazon.

He said, Please know that your hard work and commitment do not go unnoticed. Our city stands strong because of people like you, who are ready to step up and serve in times of need.”

“Kristine” left people dead and injured, caused massive flooding in many parts of the Philippines, and destroyed houses and infrastructure including bridges.
