Kusina para sa lahat: Makati City deploys Mobile Kitchen to Cuenca, Batangas


Aside from rescue teams and equipment initially deployed to Batangas and Bicol to assist in the provinces' search and rescue operations, the Makati city government has also deployed its Mobile Kitchen to Cuenca, Batangas on Friday, October 25, following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

Nine personnel from the city government were also dispatched to the area to assist in the relief operations.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay explained that the team will initially serve three meals for 100 people, then teach the personnel from Cuenca on how to use the Mobile Kitchen so they can operate it on their own.

Led by the Makati Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, 27 personnel which included technical search and rescue responders and emergency medical services responders were sent to Bicol region and Batangas equipped with a complete set of Water Search and Rescue Equipment.

These include steel boats/rubber boats, medical equipment, high angle Search and Rescue equipment, and personal protective equipment. They also brought other self-sustaining assets, such as generator sets, Urban Search and Rescue shelter.

The Makati DRRMO also brought four rescue vehicles, two basic life support ambulances, and a canter truck.
