Globe restores network in seven typhoon-hit areas

Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. successfully completed the network restoration services in seven areas severely hit by Typhoon Kristine, while five more provinces are undergoing rehabilitation.

As of 9 am on Friday, Oct. 25, Globe said that network service was successfully restored in areas namely Camarines Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Biliran, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Samar, and Southern Leyte.

Meanwhile, restoration efforts are nearly complete in Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Albay, Sorsogon, and Leyte, while ground crews have begun restoration in affected sites in Southern Luzon.

“We are glad to report that several sites affected by power outages due to Kristine are back up 100 percent just as the storm makes its way out of Philippine territory. Our personnel are on the ground in other affected areas to swiftly restore service to support relief and recovery efforts and help communities cope with the devastating impact of the storm,” Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer Yoly Crisanto said.

To assist the affected individuals, Globe also deployed free calls, charging, and wifi stations to provide communications in severely hit areas.
