Luxury hotel Shangri-La The Fort, Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig said it is aware of the theft that occurred within its premises on Oct. 23 and is handling the matter with “utmost urgency.”
“We are aware of this incident, and we are handling it with utmost urgency. A police report has been filed and we are cooperating fully with the investigations,” said Shangri-La The Fort, Manila in an email to Manila Bulletin.
The hotel added, “We have always maintained a strict security regime across our premises, and we will continue to do so.”
Last Oct. 23, thieves stole P674,000 worth of iPad, tablets, cellular phones, laptops and cash from 12 members of the award-winning church choir Kammerchor Manila.

The items and money were stolen while Kammerchor Manila was performing at an event in a function room at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila.
The incident happened at the Capiz room of the hotel, which was used by the choir as a holding area where they placed their personal items before their performance.
Kammerchor Manila reported the incident to the hotel and the Taguig Police.
Shangri-La The Fort, Manila reminded guests and event organizers to safeguard their belongings, particularly in public areas of the hotel.
“Out of an abundance of caution, we encourage guests and organisers to exercise caution with their personal belongings particularly when in busy public areas. For event organisers, complimentary use of onsite safety deposit boxes is available to help with safeguarding of personal belongings,” Shangri-La The Fort, Manila added.
