Parañaque LGU orders preemptive evacuation due to STS 'Kristine'

Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez has issued a preemptive evacuation order due to intensified rainfall brought about by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
The evacuation was mandated in areas susceptible to flooding, inundation, and storm surges.
Olivarez ordered the precautionary action after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued an “orange” heavy rainfall warning over Metro Manila as of 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 24.
He said scattered to widespread flooding is expected in low-lying areas and near river channels in the city.
Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committees (BDRRMC) are also advised to identify their respective evacuation centers and activate camp coordination and camp management (CCCM).The BDRRMC focal persons are strongly encouraged to coordinate closely with the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Emergency Local Operations Center (ELO Center) and provide regular status updates.
The mayor has also ordered the City Social Welfare Development Office, DRRMO, the local police, and the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) to implement forced evacuation based on succeeding warnings from PAGASA.
