Asia's Diamond Soul Siren Nina is excited about her "Love Nina" birthday concert at the Theater Solaire on Oct. 30.

Nina's birthday is on Nov. 1, and the concert produced by Ticket1 under Jonathan Wee is a gift for all her fans who have supported her throughout 24 years in the music industry.

During a press conference in Quezon City recently, Nina said she has no regrets about joining show business even if her father had a different dream for her.

"No regrets about joining the music industry. Noong una pinag-la-law ako ng daddy ko. Gusto niya akong maging lawyer-accountant. Pwede naman para maging happy ang daddy ko pero doon talaga ako dinadala," Nina said.

Nina blasted into the music with the song "Jealous." Her other hits include "Someday," "Don't Want To Be Your Friend," "Love Moves In Mysterious Ways," "I'll Always Stay In Love This Way," "Foolish Heart," etc.

Nina, 43, admitted the most memorable recording she had was for the song "I'll Always Stay In Love This Way" in 2004.

"So paano mo yun kakantahin kung heartbroken ka? I would always stay in love this way pero heartbroken ka.

"Kakahiwalay ko lang that time. Ang story behind that is irerecord ko na dapat yung kanta pero kaka break up ko pa lang. So, iyak ako ng iyak. I was so depressed at hindi ako makakain.

"So tinawagan ko yung musical director namin sabi ko hindi ko talaga kaya. Umpisa pa lang (ng song) wala na. Paano ako magiging stay in love with you kung nag break kayo?" Nina said.

When asked about the identity of the guy, Nina laughed and answered: "Sorry! No! Ayoko naman."

Nina shared how much she loves the song "Love Moves In Mysterious Ways" — it really holds a special place in her heart.

"Lahat ng songs ko favorite ko. But 'Love Moves In Mysterious Ways,' I believe in that. Even if you are not looking for it, that will happen.

"Sa 'Love Moves In Mysterious Ways,' na meet ko si Julia Fordham way back. Kumanta pa ako sa show niya. I think sa Shangrila yun sa show niya.

"Dala ko noon yung Diamond Award ko at pinirmahan pa niya. Sabi niya I love your cover of 'Love Moves In Mysterious Ways.' Thank you so much for including the song in your album," Nina recalled.

Nina believes that her voice has remained relatively constant over the years. She feels that it retains the same qualities and characteristics she has always had, without noticeable changes in tone or pitch.

"Yung iba sabi nila wala naman daw nagbago sa boses ko. Hinihintay ko lang ang mga comment nila pero parang wala naman nabago pa so far. Kaya pa naman yung mga birit.

"When I record all my songs in the album, I try to think about the stories and experiences and incorporate them into my songs.

"May mga nagsasabi nga na bakit daw emote na emote ako kapag kinakanta ko yung ibang songs ko. Kasi nga nangyari talaga sa akin. Kasama na rin sa songs ko ang mga experience ng friends ko as well," Nina said.

Before her concert, Nina avoids alcohol and ensures she gets plenty of rest and sleep.

"Pinaka-unang kalaban talaga ng singer ay ang puyat at walang tulog. So I get as much sleep and go to bed early to prepare for the concert. Then no alcoholic drinks," she said.

As of now, Nina does not have any new album planned for release in the near future. However, she has been busy composing a collection of new material that showcases her evolving artistry.

Nina believes in the importance of timing when it comes to sharing her work with the world, and she is currently waiting for the perfect moment to unveil her new creations.

"Wala pang new album as of now. Ang dami ko na rin naisulat na original songs but I feel the time is not right yet. Hindi ko pa nahahanap yung tamang melody. It's just there but I'm still waiting for the right timing," she said.

Nina truly cherishes her fans, viewing them as the most significant blessings in her career. She often reflects on how their unwavering support and enthusiasm have shaped her journey, fueling her passion and motivating her to push boundaries.

With every concert and interaction, she feels a deep gratitude for their loyalty and encouragement, which inspires her to create even more heartfelt and meaningful work.

"Aside from the awards, the greatest blessing would be my fans, who still support me. Without them, I wouldn't be here anymore. Sila ang nagbibigay ng energy and strength for me to go on.

"Nakakatuwa na naging comfort zone nila ang songs ko. Everytime may nararamdaman silang emotions like sadness, happiness, excitement ako yung naiisip nila. Go-to ang music ko sa kanila. Yung iba nga sine-share pa nila sa mga anak nila yung songs ko.

"I'm happy and content with all the blessings. But I'm looking forward to many things to come kasi you still don't know what will happen," Nina said.

Reflecting on her path in the world of music, Nina expressed that the obstacles she encountered along the way have ultimately turned out to be invaluable lessons.

She views these challenges not merely as hardships but as blessings in disguise that shaped her growth and resilience as an artist.

Each struggle taught her something profound, allowing her to appreciate the journey even more.

"I'm happy na naexperience ko yung mga discrimination na yun. Looking back, I had experiences na dapat kasama ako sa mga band pero wala raw nila dahil wala silang mapapala sa akin. Wala raw akong mararating. Yung mga ganung bagay? Pero napatunayan ko sa sarili ko na meron din pala akong mararating. Na-achieve ko rin ang mga pangarap ko sa music industry."

So what's her birthday wish? Nina said: "Happiness and a stress-free life. Mahirap ma-achieve pero I want to enjoy the present and not worry about the future. I want to be happy."
