Marcos to businessmen: Keep working with gov't to achieve PH economic growth
President Marcos has urged private businesses to continue working with the government to achieve the administration's goal towards economic growth.

"Moving forward, I urge the PCCI to continue working with us so we can achieve our collective goals," Marcos said in his speech during the 50th Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E) delivered by Special Assistant to the President for investment and economic affairs Frederick Go on Oct. 23.
The President said this as he acknowledged the dedication of Filipino businesses to uplift the business sector mirrors the administration's commitment to steer the country's economy towards greater prosperity.
"We have always stood by you, and you have supported the transformation strategy that we have set in motion since 2022," he said, enumerating the reforms in the existing policies being implemented since then to ensure business continuity.
The Chief Executive cited reforms such as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Services Act; Public Service Act, which will facilitate the smooth entry of foreign investments in the country; Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises or CREATE Act of 2021; and Build, Better, More program.
He stressed that through these reforms, the economy grew by 6.3 percent in the second quarter of 2024, making the Philippines one of Asia’s best-performing major emerging economies. The Philippines, he said, ranked ahead of Malaysia, Indonesia, and China, and only behind Vietnam.
The President also attributed the 1.9 percent inflation rate, the lowest inflation recorded since May of 2020; and the increased employment rate which was at 96 percent in August this year to the reforms he implemented.
Marcos also called on experts and other stakeholders to "develop fresh ideas" to propel the economy, and reiterated his support to Filipino entrepreneurs.
"To our experts, visionaries, and stakeholders, I encourage you to develop fresh ideas and explore new technologies that will propel our economy forward, faster. And to our entrepreneurs, know that this administration fully supports you," he said.
"We will continue to create a society where your aspirations can flourish and where your hard work can touch the lives of countless others," he added.
