TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – A 31-year-old policeman was allegedly stabbed to death by a tricycle driver following a heated altercation in Barangay Ugac Norte here on Monday night, Oct. 21.

Police Capt. Rosemarie Taguiam, spokesperson of the Tuguegarao City Police Station, identified the victim as Police Patrolman Alvin Cabrera of Barangay Ugac Norte.
Investigation said the victim and suspect – Jack from Barangay Pengue Ruyu, Tuguegarao City – had a heated conversation while they were traveling on a street.
Cabrera was about to park his motorcycle beside the road when the suspect alighted from his tricycle and stabbed the victim four times in the body with a knife.
The victim sought help from a convenience store and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Jack was arrested in a pursuit operation and was positively identified by witnesses. The suspect’s tricycle and license plates were also positively identified by witnesses.
A murder case was filed against the suspect.
Taguiam said a follow-up investigation is ongoing.
