Las Piñas DRRMO on 24-hour alert due to STS 'Kristine'

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar directed the city's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) team to be on 24-hour alert and to conduct immediate evacuation of residents living near high-risk areas of flooding due to heavy rains brought about by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

Aguilar said the Las Piñas City Command Center is working 24-hours to monitor weather updates and emergencies for immediate action by the DRRMO team and other offices.

Coordination was also made with assisting units from different agencies which include the 73rd Special Company of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force and Maritime Law Enforcement Team- Parañaque-Las Piñas Command to help with rescue and evacuation operations.

The mayor also said vehicles, rescue equipment, and modular tents were also put on stand-by for immediate deployment.
