#KristinePH: Filipinos' 'bayanihan' spirit shines through anew in this time of disaster
Amid the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, the resilient “bayanihan” spirit of Filipinos shines through once more, as communities unite to offer assistance and support to those affected.

Whether through volunteer efforts, donation drives, or rescue operations, the collective strength and compassion of the Filipino people shine brightly in times of adversity, reminding the nation of the power of unity and solidarity.
Several organizations have already set up various fundraising initiatives and donation drives to help affected communities.
Bangon Naga!
The Kaya Natin! Movement and the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation are calling for donations for our kababayans in Naga City, Camarines Sur, who have been severely affected by Kristine.
Donations can be sent through BPI and UnionBank accounts.
As posted on the Kaya Natin Facebook page, the Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership has received over ₱9.8 million in cash donations for those affected by Kristine as of Oct. 24, 12:30 p.m.
“We are grateful for your support and compassion for our fellow Filipinos,” the movement said. “From a small donation of ten pesos to as big as P100,000, your generosity will help our kababayans in Naga City and the Bicol Region rise from this calamity,” it added.


Emergency Appeal of the Philippine Red Cross
The country’s foremost humanitarian organization has also sent an emergency appeal for donations to aid those severely affected by Kristine.
“The Philippine Red Cross is urgently appealing for donations to support our preparedness and response efforts as Typhoon Kristine continues to impact communities,” the organization said in its appeal.
PRC stated that its teams are on the ground in Albay and other affected areas, conducting rescue operations, providing relief supplies, and assisting in evacuations.
“However, we need your support to reach more affected families and strengthen our response across all regions,” it added.


Tulong Guro of the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT)
“Nananawagan tayo ng tulong at pakikiisa para sa mga apektadong pamilya sa mga nasabing rehiyon. Malawakang pagbaha ang nararanasan at maraming bahay, sakahan, at mga hanapbuhay ang nalubog sa tubig." (We are calling for help and solidarity for the affected families in these regions. Widespread flooding is being experienced, and many homes, farms, and livelihoods have been submerged in water),” ACT said on its Facebook page.

Amihan Women
In partnership with Sagip Kanayunan, Amihan National Federation of Peasant Women, Amihan Bikol, and Rural Women Advocates urgently called for support to help farmers and fisherfolk in Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur rebuild and recover.

BLOOM Philippines
BLOOM Philippines, a fanbase dedicated to the girl group BINI, also called for cash and in-kind donations to support those affected by Kristine.

Bangon Bayan
In partnership with the Dare Merci Foundation, Bangon Bayan is accepting cash donations to provide immediate assistance to communities affected by "Kristine."
Brigada Kalikasan
A non-profit organization based in the Philippines that specializes in disaster relief response and environmental concerns, Brigada Kalikasan has called for monetary donations to support farmers and residents in affected communities.

Community Pantry PH
Community pantry leader Patreng Non is setting up community kitchens in Naga, Legazpi, and Sorsogon to aid residents and families in need. The group is also calling for donations and volunteers to help support this initiative.
'Project Sagip' of For Our Farmers PH, Inc.
The group has reopened the "Project Sagip" donation drive to assist communities affected by Kristine.

KATRIBU
A national alliance of indigenous peoples organizations in the Philippines, KATRIBU has called for donations for affected peasant farmers and Indigenous Peoples in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Central Luzon, and the Bicol region.
Rotaract Clubs of Rotary International District 3820
The Rotaract Clubs of Rotary International District 3820 are launching Project Banyuhay, a relief operation to assist affected families in Bicol. They are accepting both in-kind and cash donations to support this initiative.
SM Cares
In collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross, SM Cares is appealing for monetary donations to assist affected communities through its Operation Tulong Express initiative.
iLab ARAL
The group has launched cash and in-kind donation drives to help those affected by Kristine in Camarines Sur.

League of Liberal Reformists-Reporma Coalition
The organization has launched monetary and in-kind donation drives, as well as volunteer initiatives, to assist affected communities.
The Camillian Fathers Foundation
The Camillian Fathers Foundation is launching a donation drive to support affected residents in Calbayog, Samar. They are accepting cash donations.

The Kindness Station
“In times of crisis, we are all one family—no rich, no poor. We are all in this together. And we should rise up together,” the group said as it launched a donation drive for those affected by Kristine in various areas of Sorsogon and other provinces in the Bicol Region.

Youth groups, school-based organizations
Various organizations, including youth and school-based groups, have also launched initiatives to help communities affected by Kristine, including:
Agham Youth: The group called for donations to provide immediate relief to affected communities.

Angat GenC: A youth movement raising awareness about the climate crisis and advocating for climate action has called for monetary and in-kind donations for affected communities. “We are knocking on your kind hearts for donations to help the community restore hope during these trying times,” the group said.

ASEAN Youth Advocates Network: The youth-led, non-profit volunteer organization for the empowerment of ASEAN youth appealed to the international community for generosity. “All donations will go directly to local organizations in Bicol, specifically aiding the Municipality of Nabua,” the group stated on its Facebook page.

Franciscan Youth – Tabontabon: The group is accepting cash and in-kind donations for those affected in Bicol.
Kaya Natin! Youth-Lucena: The group called for in-kind and monetary donations to help affected communities in Quezon Province.
Tulong Kabataan: Through its local center, Tulong Kabataan-Bicol is seeking monetary donations to support relief and evacuation efforts for those affected in Bicol.
Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines: Together with its partner organizations, the group is calling for donations to provide immediate relief for affected communities.
Youth Ambassadors of Albay: The group is also accepting monetary and in-kind donations for its “Tindog Albayano” drive to help those affected by Kristine in the province.
Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP): The alliance is collecting monetary and in-kind donations to support affected communities. In-kind donations can be dropped off at the Akbayan HQ, located at 36B Madasalin Street, Diliman, Quezon City. This initiative is organized by SCAP, Akbayan Youth, YouthResist, Bukluran UP System, Buklod Atenista, and Students’ Rights and Welfare Philippines.
The following school-based organizations have also launched their respective donation drives: Association of Filipino Forestry Students – Bicol University, Ateneo de Naga University, Bicol University Architecture Students’ Association, Bicol University College of Science – College Student Council, Bicol University IPESR College Student Council, Bicol University League of Democrats, Bicol University Pre-Medical Society, the BU Swifties Society, Cavite State University Central Student Government, Legazpi City Science High School Supreme Secondary Learner Government, Ligao National High School Supreme Student Government, Northwest Samar State University, Oragon UPB, Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers-Bicol University Student Chapter, Philippine Nursing Students Association of Mabini Colleges, Inc., Rizal Technology University, The Bicol Universitarian, UP Bugkos, UP Catandungan Los Baños, UP Harong, UP Hin-ay, UP Kabataang Alyansa ng may Dugong taga-Hilagang Kamarines, UPLB Department of Social Sciences, UP Oroquieta, and UST Legazpi Psychology Society, among others.
