Classes in Camanava, QC Cities remain suspended on October 25

The local governments of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, and Quezon Cities announced the suspension of classes at all levels both public and private on Friday, October 25, due to the heavy downpour brought by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

The suspension was declared after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 2 at around 7 p.m. in Metro Manila.

Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco said that residents may come to the health center for free medicine against leptospirosis.

"Kung nakalusong man po sa tubig-baha, siguruhing pumunta sa health center para sa libreng doxycycline. Panlaban po ito sa nakamamatay na leptospirosis (If you’ve come into contact with floodwaters, make sure to visit a health center for free doxycycline. This medication is a defense against the deadly leptospirosis,” he said.

Meanwhile, Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “WES” Gatchalian announced that online classes for the college level will proceed as scheduled.

All the LGUs encouraged the residents to stay indoors to ensure their safety.

All the city governments have advised residents to contact their respective emergency hotlines in case of emergencies.

Residents are encouraged to save these numbers and reach out whenever necessary.
