CAVITE – Gov. Athena Tolentino announced the suspension of government work and classes at all levels in the province on Friday, October 25.

The latest announcement extends the class cancellation that has been in effect in Cavite since October 21 due to the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, October 24, Tolentino said government offices providing essential services, health services, and emergency response teams will remain operational.

She also reminded her constituents to stay updated on official advisories and bulletins regarding the storm, urging them to prioritize their safety and remain prepared for any emergencies.

Heavy rains battered the province with a Red Rainfall Warning issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration at 2:00 p.m.

Several waterways reached critical and spilling levels, including Ylang-Ylang River in Noveleta, Maragondon River in Ternate, and Prinza Dam in General Trias City.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) of Rosario, meanwhile, warned residents of the coastal municipality that the Malimango River was near its spilling level at 4:35 p.m. and urged vehicle owners to park their vehicles temporarily on high ground.
