Despite the busy schedule, TV host and Tutok-to-Win party-list representative Sam Verzosa said he and his girlfriend, actress Rhian Ramos, are preparing to fly to New York City to join the prestigious annual marathon in November.

“Nagpapalakas tayo.  Pag may oras tumatakbo kami ... gym. Noong isang araw, nag 21 kilometers (run) kami,” said Sam when asked about their preparations for marathon during a charity event held at the Barrio Obrero Elementary School in Manila City over the weekend.

Sam reaffirmed his commitment to continuing to share his blessings with the people of Manila inspite of the false information spread by paid trolls.

He openly acknowledged that he was emotionally affected by the false information being circulated by malicious individuals on various social media platforms.

“Nandito lang ako para magbigay tulong. Pero hindi ko alam kung bakit ako ang binubugbog sa social media. Lagi akong sinisiraan ng mga binabayarang trolls.

“Kaya ako nandito at nanggigigil kasi masakit. Minsan below the belt minsan. Nasasaktan ako, eh. Ayoko na sanang sabayan pero tao lang ako. Pinepersonal ako.

“lilihis mo sa akin, dapat ikaw ang nag-e-explain (kung ano ang naging problema). Kahit aso sapakin mo, iiyak at kakagat, ako pa kaya na tao lamang,” Sam added.

Sam has confirmed that his mobile clinic, which offers medical assistance, and his mobile boutiques will maintain their regular visits to different locations in Manila. This commitment aims to ensure continued support for those in need within the community.

"Na-bless na ako nang sobra-sobra. Galing lahat sa sarili nating bulsa, gusto ko ipakita sa lahat na kung kaya ko gawin, what more pa kung nasa city hall na. Kaya ang lagi kong sinasabi, sasamahan ko ang lahat ng Manilenyo hanggang dulo,” he said.

The congressman is also well appreciated because of the premium products that he usually gives to the less fortunate, earning him the moniker “SPAM VERZOSA”. 

By offering these premium items, Sam’s team aims to make the recipients feel better about themselves and to avoid the sense of being shortchanged. He believes that by providing quality products, he can help to improve the overall well-being of the families he serves.

“Alam nyo po yan ang gusto kong gawin kasi gusto nating itaas ang standard. Kaya ako nagbibigay ng masasarap na pagkain, masasarap na ayuda para gayahin nila. Hindi yung binibigyan kayo ng ayuda ng maiitim na bigas, puro sardinas, huwag ganun, tratuhin nating tama ang mga kababayan natin," Sam addressed the crowd.

For senior citizens who are facing financial difficulties, the philanthropist offered a much-needed boost by providing 2,000 pesos in cash. This allowance can be used to cover essential expenses such as medicines, food, and transportation, helping to improve their overall quality of life.

“Wala na tayong pinapangako, lahat ginagawa na po natin. Libre na po ang pagpapagamot, maintenance medicine, meron po tayong SV Mobile clinics, umiikot po araw araw yan. Hatid natin ang dalawang libong allowance para sa senior citizens. 

Nakita ko dahil sa ginagawa natin sa mga programa natin, balita ko gusto nila tayo gayahin. Next year daw, dahil sinabi nating dalawang libo, gagawin na nilang isang libo ang allowance ng mga seniors sa 2025. Yan daw ang mangyayari. Ok lang yun, ginagaya tayo, ibig sabihin maraming makikinabang," Sam added.
