The city government of Malabon urged its residents to coordinate and observe safety measures in anticipation of severe weather conditions due to Tropical Storm Kristine.
"Sa lahat ng lungsod naman po ay hindi maiiwasan ang epekto ng mga bagyo at iba pang kalamidad na dumadaan. Ngunit, ang pamahalaang lungsod ng Malabon ay siguradong nakahanda para sa kaligtasan ng mga mamamayan tuwing may ganitong panahon. Hiling lamang po namin ay ang kooperasyon at pakikipag-ugnayan ng mga Malabueño upang ating maisagawa ang mga operasyon at makaiwas ang lahat sa kapahamakan (In all cities, the impact of typhoons and other calamities cannot be avoided. But, the city government of Malabon is ready to ensure the safety of its residents whenever there is a weather like this. We only ask for the cooperation and coordination of the Malabueños so that we can carry out the operation and avoid all harm)," City Administrator's Office OIC Atty. Bianca Espiritu said.
"Kung sakali naman ho na ang pamahalaang lungsod ay mag-rekomenda ng preemptive evacuation, hiling lamang po namin sa mga Malabueño ay ang kanilang kooperasyon. Ito ay para sa kaligtasan ng bawat isa. Asahan ninyo na nakanda ang lokal na pamahalaan para tumulong sa inyo ano man ang panahon (In the event that the city government recommends a preemptive evacuation, we ask Malabueños for their cooperation. This is for everyone's safety. Expect the local government to be on hand to help you in all kinds of weather)," Atty. Espiritu added.
On Tuesday, October 22, the city's Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) conducted a pre-disaster risk assessment meeting to ensure that all departments were aligned and ready for the typhoon.

Malabon has been placed on red alert status to enable city departments to fully mobilize disaster response operations.
The City Command and Communication Center, which has monitoring cameras and other devices, will remain operational 24/7 to provide updates to communities regarding the typhoon and the situation of different areas in the city.
All the city's equipment, including rubber boats, rescue vehicles, early warning devices, and flood sensors, were also prepared to ensure immediate disaster and emergency response operations.
