EJ Laure, Buding Duremdes part ways with Chery Tiggo; Alohi Robins-Hardy joins Farm Fresh

“Thank you to these two incredible athletes, Buding Duremdes and EJ Laure,” the team wrote on social media. “We are grateful for your contributions to the team and happy to have shared an epic ride with you.”

“We wish you all the best as you move on to the next phase of your journey. Your Chery Tiggo Crossover family will be cheering for you,” it added.

With her departure, the 27-year-old Laure wrapped up her nine-year stint with Chery Tiggo (formerly Foton Tornadoes in the defunct Philippine Super Liga) after producing a number of achievements including a bronze medal in the 2024 PNVF Champions League and the 2016 PSL Grand Prix Conference crown.

Laure expressed her gratitude to the Crossovers in a separate social media post.

“Forever grateful for the 9 years, Foton/Chery,” wrote Laure, who snared the 1st Best Open Hitter plum in the 2017 PSL all-Filipino tournament where she and the Tornadoes copped the bronze as well.

Duremdes, for her part, played for the team for almost five years and was part of the crew that won the 2021 PVL Open Conference title.

Meanwhile, Alohi Robins-Hardy returns to Philippine soil after signing with the Farm Fresh Foxies for the upcoming 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference next month.

The 28-year-old Fil-American had previously donned the national colors in the first leg of 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix (currently SEA V.League) where they won the bronze.

She was awarded Best Setter in the 2017 PSL before bannerning Cignal two years after. She has also played in several professional clubs in her hometown Hawaii, Serbia, Czech Republic, and France.

Robins-Hardy joins veteran libero Jheck Dionela as new reinforcement of the Foxies, who are already putting premium in their roster to improve their forgettable finishes in the PVL.
