The “Has Fallen” movies starring Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman have kept audiences riveted and asking for more. The three movies, Olympus, London, and Angel, entertain viewers with the idea that even the top of the food chain can be prey. Of course, the entire story revolves around the premise that someone will always defend and protect the big cheese.

Now, Paris has Fallen, a small-screen adaptation sporting a similar premise with some added twists. Unlike before, where the US Secret Service agent is our protagonist, the storyline now revolves around a French protection officer and an MI6 agent. As the series progresses, one can only speculate what can happen between the two. But with only two episodes under its belt, we have yet to see if there will be chemistry between the two. Should we take everything at face value? Will there be a giant twist happening in the next episode.

In fact, with just two episodes, the main target is still up in the air. It is the many side relationship side stories that will keep you speculating.

The Paris series may seem a bit formulaic. There is no denying that. But then, so were the latter two Has Fallen movies. But there is comfort in familiarity, and while somewhat predictable, the film still did not disappoint, so that is something to look forward to, as well as the rest of the episodes dropping.

The thing to remember here is that a new antagonist, played by Sean Harris, who also played terrorist Solomon Lane in the latter Mission Impossible movies. Is he, or is he not the bad guy in this one? Who are his targets? Who will fall next?

The cast has good actors, including familiar faces like Rita Aruya from Umbrella Academy. But there are a ton more new ones that will keep you guessing. One remains hopeful and patiently awaiting the next installment. This genre appeals to every conspiracy theorist in all of us.

You can catch the series on Lionsgate Play.
