According to the QCPD public information office, by around 5 a.m., floodwaters had started to subside in several areas. However, police officers remained onsite to closely monitor the situation, particularly in evacuation centers.
The QCPD personnel were deployed to the flooded areas in La Loma, Masambong, Galas, and Payatas Bagong Silangan, to assist the affected families and to provide security in high-risk areas.
The response was part of the QCPD’s comprehensive disaster response plan aimed at mitigating the impact of the typhoon and ensuring the safety of communities severely affected by flooding.
The deployment was part of the directive of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Director Maj. Gen. Sidney Hernia to activate the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) to be placed on heightened alert to handle emergency response.
“As public servants, it is our duty not only to maintain peace and order, but we are also a strong support during disaster response. We are committed to supporting the people of Quezon City in times of crisis, ensuring that help reaches those who need it most,” QCPD Director Col. Melencio Buslig Jr. said.
