Marcos silent on VP Duterte's tirades

It seems President Marcos does not care about what Vice President Sara Duterte is saying against him.

At the celebration of the founding anniversary of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the President just brushed it off when asked what his comment was when Duterte said he does not know how to become a president.

Although persistently asked by reporters, Marcos just smirked and walked away.

Malacañang’s silence on Duterte’s tirades has been consistent, even though the latter said that Marcos does not know how to become a president and warned that she would dig up his father’s remains and throw it to the West Philippine Sea.

When the Vice President held a sit-down with the media and made various criticisms about Marcos, the Office of the President said it had “no statement.”

It was Senior Deputy Majority Leader and Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos who was the only Marcos that has so far reacted to Duterte's tirades.

Rep. Marcos said the Vice President “crossed the line,” and that her behavior was a “bizarre temper tantrum” towards a dead person.

“For all this time, I have held my tongue out of respect for the Vice President, given the mandate she was given and the responsibility which her office holds. However, as a son, I cannot stay silent while she threatens to exhume a former president and behead an incumbent one,” his statement read.

“Besides, her bizarre temper tantrum has been condemned by a nation horrified by such displays of insensitivity towards the dead and cruelty to the living,” it added.
