Central Visayas’ most wanted neutralized in Cebu


CEBU CITY – A man considered as the most wanted person in Central Visayas was killed in an alleged shootout with police in Argao town, Cebu province on Tuesday morning, Oct. 22.

The fatality was identified as Roel Antiquina Gomez, a resident of Barangay Colawin, Argao.

The Argao Police Station led by Police Major Janus Giangan went to a house in Sitio Magkabayo, Barangay Capio-an to serve a set of arrest warrants against Gomez – three for murder and one each for homicide, illegal drugs, and illegal possession of firearms.

Giangan said that when they arrived in the area around 3:30 a.m., shots were fired toward them coming from a house. Police returned fire and hit Gomez.

Gomez was taken to the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital in Argao where he was declared dead.

JR Davin Loquinario, 29, an alleged cohort of Gomez, was apprehended during the operation.

Police said a .45 caliber pistol with four live bullets was recovered from Loquinario.
