Camanava, QC LGUs suspend afternoon classes due to bad weather


The local governments of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela (Camanava), and Quezon City declared the suspension of classes in public and private schools on Tuesday, October 22, due to tropical depression Kristine. 

The Caloocan, Navotas and Quezon LGUs canceled classes in Kindergarten up to Senior High and Alternative Learning System (ALS).

In Malabon and Valenzuela Cities, classes in all levels of both public and private schools were also suspended. 

The Valenzuela LGU said that online classes for college level will continue as scheduled. 

All the LGUs encouraged the residents to stay indoors to ensure their safety.

The suspension was declared after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 at around 11:25 a.m. in Metro Manila.

The decision was made under Ordinance No. 1175, Series of 2024, “An ordinance prescribing the guidelines on the cancellation or suspension of classes and work in schools and colleges in the event of disasters and other natural calamities in the city of Valenzuela.”
