Aurora head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani said the first-year team learned a lot throughout the season but particularly in their grand finals match against Fnatic Onic Philippines where they looked to be one team fight away from claiming the MPL crown.

Instead, Aurora botched a crucial Lord siege late in the deciding Game 7, resulting in four of their players getting taken down as the Sonics, in the process, pulled off a reversal and dashed the Northern Lights comeback bid from 1-3 deficit.

Na kahit anong game iyan dapat nakacomposed kami, kahit lamang kami dapat composed kami,” said MTB obviously pertaining to the deciding clash in Game 7.

With the Lord marching down the bottom lane at the 20th minute mark, Aurora tried to end the game but FNOP, banking on their solid high ground defense, punished RORA’s aggression.

MTB later on admitted that it committed a costly mistake when Aurora forced the issue on that Lord's siege.

As painful as the loss, MTB said it was an experience the team has to go through to further improve. For one, the loss cannot take away the team’s show of resolve when it overcame a 1-3 deficit and dragged the series to a winner-take-all.
