
A female student fell from a motorcycle taxi after it collided with a public utility vehicle along Nicanor Reyes Street in Sampaloc, Manila, on Monday morning, October 21.
Authorities said the motorcycle rider, Frankie Ancla, and his 18-year-old passenger, Kayziel Deris, were cruising the southbound lane of Nicanor Reyes Street at around 9 a.m.
Police said a passenger van stopped to drop off its passengers in front of the Far Eastern University's Gate 4.
The passenger, who was on the front seat of the van, opened the door which hit the motorcycle.
Witnesses said the motorcycle driver lost control when he hit the PUV's door.
The victim was still wearing her helmet when she fell from the motorcycle.
FEU's security and health personnel gave first aid treatment to the victim before she was brought to UST Hospital.
Members of the Manila Police District (MPD) also arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation.
