Car passenger dies after hitting parked trailer truck in Antipolo
A passenger of a white sedan died while four others were injured after their vehicle hit a parked 10-wheeler truck along Marcos Highway in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo, Rizal early Tuesday morning, October 22, Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares said.


According to the initial police report, the incident occurred at around 4 a.m. There were five people reported to be inside the white sedan when the accident happened.
Due to the impact, one of the still unidentified victim inside the white sedan was killed in the accident.
"May kasalanan po parehas kasi yung truck po illegally parked doon, sa pagi-imbestiga ng kapulisan natin, hindi daw po naka-hazard tapos wala ding early warning device. Yung kotse naman po ay mabilis tumakbo, nasa 90-180 kilometers per hour (Both parties are at fault. The truck was illegally parked and the investigation showed that his hazard lights were off and he had no early warning device. Meanwhile, the car was running at 90-180 kilometers per hour which is more than the 60 kilometers per hour speed limit allowed)," PCP 1 commander Capt. Carlo Tamondong said in an interview.
The sedan's driver was also found to be drunk and has no driver's license. He will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property with homicide and physical injuries.
Meanwhile, the truck driver will face charges for negligence resulting in damage to property with homicide and physical injuries.
