Unlike the new MPL teams which usually struggled in their very first season, the Northern Lights took the league by storm and went as far as qualifying to the M6 World Championships and marching into the grand finals.

As proud as he is with the rare feat, Edward said he was the least surprised by the outcome of their season, noting that he felt there’s something special from their group right from the beginning.

“Nakaka-proud,” said Edward following the team’s 4-2 win over FCAP in the lower bracket finals.

“Pero actually parang inexpect ko na siya kasi parang nagsisimula kami two or three months parang ang lakas namin sa scrims so parang kayang kaya talaga namin maabot yung grand finals,” he added.

Renejay echoed the same sentiments that while the team is composed of already established players from other teams, the formation of their bond and chemistry were surprisingly seamless – something that according to him manifested during the games.

Outside some few hiccups in the regular season, Aurora fairly lived up to its powerhouse billing after taking down champion teams like Team Liquid, Blacklist International and Falcons APBren on their way to MPL grand finals.

“Siguro magandang achievement sya.
