Mea files COC for reelection as mayor of Tiaong, Quezon


TIAONG, Quezon – Reelectionist Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea and his slate filed their Certificates of Candidacy for next year’s elections at the Commission on Elections municipal office on Wednesday, October 2.

Mea and his team attended a Mass before proceeding to the Comelec. He was accompanied by businessman Atong Ang and actress Sunshine Cruz.

Ang urged voters to reelect Mea for his second term since he accomplished what he promised in his first term. 

Mea vowed to continue programs for development, education, livelihood, health, peace and order, social services, tourism and infrastructure. He thanked his constituents for trusting him.

Peaceful first day

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police said the first day of COC filing in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon region or Calabarzon area on Tuesday, October 1, was generally peaceful.

Police Regional Office 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas lauded all police units in the region for ensuring the safety and security of 612 candidates who filed COCs in the first day and the general public. 

"We are grateful that the first day of filing on October 1, 2024 proceeded without any disruptions. This success reflects the meticulous planning and collaboration between the PNP and the Commission on Elections," Lucas said.
