Malabon City gov't kicks off Business and Tourism Week with series of activities


The Malabon City government kicked off the Business and Tourism Week 2024 on Tuesday, October 1.

The six-day celebration started with a series of events such as a cooperative motorcade that passed through different routes in the city, the ribbon cutting of the trade fair at C4 Island showcasing local products and promotion of local businesses (including micro, small, and medium enterprises), and the awarding of businesses and private sector partners that adhere to social responsibility and contribute to the advancement of the general welfare and inclusive progress at Fisher Mall Malabon.

“Ating binibigyang pagkilala ang mga nag-ambag sa pag-papaunlad ng ating ekonomiya, sining, at kultura na siya ring naging dahilan ng pagtuloy nating pag-ahon. Ito ang mga nagsilbing tulay sa pagkakaroon ng isang maganda at masaganang Malabon na may makulay na sining at kultura. Itong ating mga inihandang programa ay tiyak na makakapagbigay aliw habang ipinakikita ang ating galing at pinasasalamatan ang mga natatanging Malabueño at mga organisasyon,” Mayor Jeannie Sandoval said.

On Wednesday, October 2, the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (CTCAO) launched the Sining De Tambobong, a three-day art exhibition showcasing the talents of local Malabueño artists.

It also includes training sessions for students participating in an art competition aimed at fostering creative skills.

Meanwhile, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Cooperative Development Office will host seminars designed to empower Malabueños with knowledge for livelihood and employment opportunities.

The City government will also hold a Mega Job Fair on October 4,  at Fisher Mall with over 2,300 job vacancies offered by 20 local and overseas companies.

“Atin pong ipinagdiriwang ang Business and Tourism Week sa Malabon at lubos na nagpapasalamat sa mga Malabueño, negosyo at grupong tumulong sa patuloy nating pagunlad. Kasabay nito ay ang ating paalala para sa mga Malabueño na tangkilikin ang sariling atin at linangin pa ang kanilang mga kakayahan tungo sa pag-unlad at kaginhawaan ng buhay sa lungsod, lalo na sa mga kabataang siyang kinabukasan ng Malabon,” City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete said.

One of the highlights of the celebration is the Malabon Tambobong Cookfest 2024, wherein participants will demonstrate their culinary skills by crafting unique dishes using local ingredients and traditional techniques.

The event celebrates Malabon's rich culinary heritage while inspiring a new generation of cooks to innovate and explore the city’s vibrant food culture.

Kulturimo Grand Cultural Nego-show 2024 will be the culminating activity of the Business and Tourism Week 2024  at the Malabon Sports Complex on Saturday, October 5.

The event will feature performances of various cultural groups, celebrating the rich artistic heritage of Malabon.
