CAVITE – The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) is ramping up preparations for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.

In a statement released on the first day of filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) on Tuesday, Oct. 1, Cavite PPO Director Col. Eleuterio M. Ricardo Jr. stated that the police will do its duty to defend the people’s right to vote without intimidation or personal threats.

The director also said the police will remain vigilant against “vote-buying, violence, and other illegal activities that may affect the integrity of the elections.”

The Cavite PPO is deploying 1,454 personnel to take up positions in critical areas, including checkpoints and major thoroughfares in the province.

In addition, the police force will be augmented by personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Philippine Coast Guard, and other agencies to assist in maintaining peace and order.

Ricardo, meanwhile, urged the public to report any suspicious activities throughout the election period, contributing to a transparent and accountable process.

"We call on every Caviteño to cooperate with law enforcement and exercise his or her right to vote in a manner that promotes peace and democracy," the Cavite PPO director said.
