PH, US, Japan hold cybersecurity talks

The Philippines, the United States, and Japan held talks on cybersecurity as they expanded their trilateral ties to include addressing cyber threats.

Officials from information and technology departments of the three governments attended the trilateral dialogue in Singapore, where they discussed cooperation in cyberspace.

Topics included civilian cybersecurity capacity building, cybersecurity workforce development, maritime cybersecurity, and information sharing.

“They also discussed cyber and digital capacity building and opportunities to enable the trusted flow of data across borders and continued efforts to advance the Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules Forum,” the US Embassy in Manila said.

The three countries then vowed to continue working together to enhance international cyberspace stability, data security and privacy, and cyber and digital capacity building in the region.

They believed the integration of cybersecurity, sustainable development, and technology will enable economic growth and improve the lives of their people.
