LOOK: Pop Mart opens first pop-up store in the Philippines

From its opening date and location to an interactive photo-op spot, here are five things fans should know about its inaugural pop-up shop in the country

In my column this week, I wrote about the Labubu craze—including how to spot fakes. While there is a Pop Mart Philippines online shop, purchasing high-demand items can be quite challenging, as they sell out quickly. People end up buying from resellers who source them from countries with Pop Mart stores.

Now, what if I told you that Pop Mart will be opening its very first pop-up store in the Philippines? There’s a chance you could score those hard-to-find blind boxes of Labubu, Molly, Hirono, Crybaby, and many more on your wish list!

Here’s what we know so far about it.

1. Pop Mart’s first official pop-up store in the Philippines is set to open on Nov. 2, 2024 at Level 2, North Entertainment Mall of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
2. It will only be here for three months, so make the most of its limited stay in the Philippines.
3. Pop Mart Global has chosen a life-sized statue of Hirono Mime Devilry to be on display in the store. It’s going to be an interactive spot for fans and visitors to have their pictures taken.
4. The regional team will be present on opening day, along with special performances to celebrate its arrival in the country.
5. Pop Mart PH posted on Instagram that they have “endless surprises in store,” which they will be revealing in the coming days.

While this pop-up is only temporary, it doesn’t mean that Pop Mart won’t consider opening permanent locations here. They have future plans for new store openings and potential collaborations with local Filipino artists. So let’s keep our fingers crossed because this is definitely something to watch out for.
