Government's housing program expands to Pulilan

State-owned Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), AVECS Corporation, Bulacan’s local government have partnered to develop 1,000 housing units in the municipality of Pulilan.

Signed on Oct. 16, the memorandum of understanding (MOU) outlined a collaboration for the construction of Mom’s Ville Phase I under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

This marks the “beginning of the construction of eight five-story condominium buildings, each with 135 housing units,” SHFC said in its statement.

Located in Brgy. Peñabatan, the beneficiaries consist of “workers from both the informal and formal sectors, including public school teachers and government employees.”

SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa called the partnership a major step in the corporation’s mission to offer affordable housing to Filipino families and expressed confidence in the project's success, citing support from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

“We are confident that we will successfully deliver these housing units to the beneficiaries of Pulilan,” Laxa said.

Pulilan Mayor Maria Rosario Ochoa-Montejo expressed her gratitude to SHFC for the project and pledged to work closely with the team to ensure the project's success.

“I assure you we will collaborate with you,” she said. “Whatever your needs for this project, I will do my best to facilitate everything so that you will not encounter any difficulties.”

Meanwhile, AVECS Corporation President Celestino Baldonado expressed pride in the project’s potential to improve the lives of Bulaceños and committed to its timely and successful completion.

Additionally, the SHFC and the Pulilan government signed a deed donating 20,000 square meters of land for the housing project.

Another MOU was signed to provide site development and housing construction loans for Mom's Ville through the Community Guided Financing (CGF) program.

Currently, SHFC is carrying out 12 housing projects under the 4PH program across various locations, contributing to a goal of over 505,000 housing units by 2028. (Derco Rosal)
