Far Eastern University never loses its hope of turning its fortunes into a good one in the second round of the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament.

From a forgettable 0-5 start, the Tamaraws are slowly finding their groove, most evident with their 65-58 win over the NU Bulldogs last Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.
It was FEU's second consecutive victory, and the team's third overall win against six losses.
Though sitting in sixth place in the eight-school field, Royce Alforque and Jorick Bautista knew everything could fall into the right place with tons of patience mixed well with the right attitude.
“Nakikita na namin ‘yong hard work namin especially sa training namin sinimulan namin, naguusap kami ng mga veterans na kailangan ipakita namin [kung paano],” said Alforque, who had nine points including his timely baskets in the fourth quarter.
“Kasi kami tinitignan ng mga bata and we lead as an example,” he added.
Bautista, who chipped in 17 points which was highlighted by his dagger triple at the top of the key that sealed the game for the Sean Chambers-mentored squad.
“Sobrang saya po kasi ‘yong mga hard work namin and kung paano namin pinu-push namin ‘yong isa’t isa unti-unti nang nagbubunga,” said Bautista. “Sobrang sarap sa feeling na makuha ‘yong panalo.”
Alforque and Bautista have known each other since they were in high school which obviously made it possible for the duo to have their backs when one of them was struggling.
“Si Royce (Alforque) matagal na po kaming magkasama since high school, grabe na ‘yong bond namin,” the shifty guard Bautista continued. “Alam kong nandiyan sya para sa akin, always po.”
