Police Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr., head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said the suspect, Mar-Mar, 24, of Barangay 12, was considered a high-value individual due to the volume of recovered drugs.

Benitez said they subjected the suspect to surveillance following complaints about his illegal activities.

He added that the suspect was also identified as a “distributor” of shabu by previously arrested drug suspects.

Benitez said that Mar-Mar obtains his supply from outside this city as an empty Chinese tea bag used for packaging was recovered.

Mar-Mar was arrested for a drug offense last year, Benitez said.

The suspect said that he was supposed to repack the contraband as supply for the MassKara Festival.

Recovered from the suspect was the P2,000 marked money, a digital weighing scale, and P1,100.
The suspect is detained at Police Station 1.
