P14.5-M marijuana torched in Mountain Province

Police burned marijuana valued at P14.5 million during an eradication operation in Mount Balitok, Barangay Saclit, Sadanga, Mountain Province, on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

The Mountain Province Police Provincial Office said 72,900 fully grown marijuana plants were discovered by the Sadanga Municipal Police Station, 2nd Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Intelligence Unit and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Mountain Province PPO, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Administrative Region.

Sufficient samples were collected and submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit-Cordillera Administrative Region for evidence and analysis.

Police are conducting follow-up operation to identify other marijuana plantations in the area and their cultivators.
