MORE Power CEO named new Iloilo Economic Development Foundation president

ILOILO CITY – Roel Castro, chief executive officer and president of city power distributor MORE Electric and Power Corp., is the new president of the Iloilo Economic Development Foundation Inc.

Castro was voted ILED president until 2026 in an election this week. He succeeded Angel de Leon Jr. of Taytay Kauswagan Inc.

Despite not being a native of Iloilo, Castro assured that ILED will bolster its impact as the leading business organization in this city and province of Iloilo.

Castro is pushing for stronger cooperation with other organizations across Western Visayas region.

One of Castro’s priorities is equipping various sectors with the knowledge and skills essential for stronger economic development.

“This will involve organizing training programs and seminars led by renowned national and international experts across diverse fields,” said Castro.

Castro brings a wealth of experience to ILED with his more than three decades working for major corporations, mostly in the energy sector.
