Tributes poured in from all corners of Hollywood when the news came of Liam Payne's death at age 31. Liam was a member of the award-winning British boy band One Direction.

Celebrities, and his former bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomilson, and fans send their sentiments online. From Charlie Puth to Paris Hilton here are some of the celebrities and singers who paid tribute to Liam. 

DJ and songwriter, Zedd who's been one of Liam's collaborators wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "RIP Liam… I can’t believe this is real… absolutely heartbreaking"

On X, the Backstreet Boys expressed their sympathies to Payne's friends, family, and Directioners.

"Words can not express the emotions we are collectively feeling right now, and it seems like the rest of the world is in the same boat. Our hearts go out to Liam’s family, friends, and Directioners around the world. Rest in peace brother."

Liam is best known for being one-fifth of the British boy band One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson. The band was formed by Simon Cowell on the U.K. X-Factor in 2010. 

The band released four albums before Malik left in 2015, and they went on to become one of the highest-grossing live acts in the world.

He went on to have a fairly successful solo music career after leaving One Direction in 2016. His debut single, “Strip That Down,” featuring Quavo, was released that year. He also collaborated with artists such as DJ Zedd and J Balvin.

He shared one son, Bear Grey Payne, born in 2017, with his ex-girlfriend (and X Factor judge) Cheryl Cole.
