Chinese cook, bodyguard, robbed in Kawit, Cavite

CAVITE – A Chinese cook and a Filipino bodyguard employed by a Chinese businessman in Kawit were victimized by a group of robbers early Wednesday morning, Oct. 16.

According to a report from the Police Regional Office 4A, eight suspects in two vehicles arrived at the Chinese businessman’s residence at 2:30 a.m. and threatened the two victims at gunpoint.

The suspects hogtied the cook and the bodyguard, took their cellphones, combined cash amounting to P100,000, and the bodyguard’s gun, and fled the crime scene .

The perpetrators were unable to access the second floor of the house where the Chinese businessman was resting.

Investigator-on-case Corporal Dennis de Ocampo of the Kawit Municipal Police Station told the Manila Bulletin that a follow-up operation to net the suspects is ongoing.

Authorities are now investigating a person of interest.
