Carpenter axed to death by older brother in Isabela

NAGUILIAN, Isabela – A 36-year-old carpenter was allegedly axed to death by his older brother during a drinking session in Purok 3, Barangay Villapaz, this town, on Sunday night, October 13.

Police Major Ferdinand Datul, Naguilian chief of police, identified the victim as Jimmy Lobendino.

Investigation said the victim and the suspect, Marfel, 42, with their brother-in-law, were having a drinking session when a heated argument erupted between the two siblings.

Marfel took an axe and struck the victim’s head. Jimmy was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The suspect surrendered to the barangay captain and was turned over to the police.

Datul said the suspect faces a parricide case in court.
