Rooster-shaped hotel in Talisay City sets Guinness World Record


BACOLOD CITY – A 15-room hotel in the shape of a rooster within the Campuestohan Highland Resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental has entered the Guinness World Records.

Standing 114 feet and seven inches tall, the structure built by resort owner Ricardo “Cano” Tan was declared as the “largest building in the shape of a chicken.”

Tan said this new landmark aims to recognize the contributions of cock breeders in the province.

He noted that the fighting cock industry is the second largest industry in the province next to sugar. 

Tan said that the industry has provided livelihood to thousands of people during a sugar crisis in the province.

The inauguration of the hotel and the unveiling of a plaque from Guinness will be held on Saturday, October 19.

The resort opened in the northern part of the province, adjacent to this city. in 2012, and has attracted many visitors and locals in the province.
