According to the program, “Universe League” is different from “Universe Ticket.” This time, the competition will be based on groups rather than individual contestants.

The contestants will be grouped into three: Rhythm, Groove and Beat. They will compete to get the Prism Cup, the final championship trophy and their ticket to debut.

The host of the program is rapper Jay Park. Korean and Chinese artists will act as coaches for each team.

Team Groove’s coach is K-pop boy band BTOB’s Lee Chang-sub while Team Rhythm will have GOT7’s Yugyeom and singer-songwriter El Capitxn, and Team Beat will be under Chinese boy band WayV’s Ten and Yangyang.

The coaches will draft and trade team members to complete the best team.

Among the 42 contestants, the youngest is 14 and the oldest is 24. Of the total contestants, 20 are from South Korea, nine from China, seven from Japan, four from Thailand, one from the Philippines, and one from Australia.

“Universe League” will air every Friday starting on Nov. 22. It will have 10 rounds with the last round airing on Jan. 24 next year.
