A 57-year-old man was arrested by the police for illegal possession of a gun in Taguig on Oct. 14.
The suspect, identified as alias Rico, was arrested by personnel from the Taguig Police Substation 2 during the implementation of a search warrant.
The search warrant was issued by Executive Judge Byron San Pedro of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 15.

During the search, the police recovered a .45-caliber pistol, nine pieces of live ammunition, three magazines, and a .45-caliber replica gun.
The police will file a complaint against the suspect for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
"The arrest of alias Rico highlights our ongoing efforts to crack down illegal firearms and enhance public safety. We appreciate the cooperation of local officials and media representatives in this successful operation," said Southern Police District chief Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang.
