'Lakas Tama' arrested for abuse of live-in partner in Parañaque City


A Japanese national was arrested after his live-in partner filed a complaint of physical and emotional abuse against him on Tuesday, October 15, in Parañaque City.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspect, identified as alias “Lakas Tama,” 34, was arrested at around 4:05 a.m. in Barangay Sun Valley, Parañaque City.

The police said the suspect's live-in partner appeared at the Parañaque City Police Station's Women’s Desk to file a complaint for physical and emotional abuse. She claimed that the suspect had threatened to kill her..

Members of the Parañaque City Police Station Intelligence Section immediately responded and coordinated with the Sun Valley police Substation SWAT team and Brgy. Sun Valley social worker for the arrest of the suspect.

Responding policemen confiscated several firearms from the suspect such as an Astra Unceta caliber 6.35 (.25) with serial number 3651B with seven live ammunition, an Ingram M11 caliber 9mm with serial number 246157, two extended magazines with 13 live ammunition, a 9mm caliber pistol without a serial number and with one inserted magazine. 

The police said the suspect failed to present the documents necessary for him to possess and own the firearms.

Complaints for grave threat, violation of RA 9262 (Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004), and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) are being prepared against the arrested suspect to be filed before the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office.
