Suzuki unveils two new Gixxer 155 models

Riders looking to inject some excitement into their daily ride now have two new options in the form of the Suzuki Gixxer 155 and Gixxer SF 155.

The two Gixxer models come from the same makers of the Hayabusa and the GSX-R, this new line of 155 models come with bold, masculine and big bike looks, as well as welcome additions to the growing Gixxer family.

Since its inception in 2015 as 250cc models, the line has sold over 26,000 units creating a solid following among riders. Suzuki hopes the new 155 models will further endear the line to riders.

The Gixxer SF 155 is a standout in Suzuki’s street sport bike line-up, boasting of fully-faired sport bike styling and high-performance features. It sports clip-on handlebars ensuring better ergonomics for a comfortable riding position. Its sporty riding style is evident in its lower center of gravity design and a sleek, crouched silhouette with trapezoidal proportions embracing European trends. The Gixxer SF 155 exudes big bike aura combining bold facets with smooth lines for an eye-catching appearance.

The Gixxer 155, on the other hand, bears streetfighter styling with its naked design and distinct contrasting body graphics. Its angular panels give it a more modern look to ensure it looks just as styling as its peers.

Powerful and fuel efficient

Whether you get the 155 or the SF 155, both bikes haves well-engineered components underneath. Powering them is a 155cc Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) engine ensuring maximum power delivery at optimum fuel efficiency. It’s air-cooled, fuel injected, single cylinder engine produces 14-hp and 13-Nm of torque. With a fuel-economy rating of 50.2 km/L, it is the one of the most fuel-efficient in its segment, beaten only by its brother, the Gixxer 155’s 53.3km/L. 

Sporty elements

Suzuki has implemented MotoGP technology into the bike’s compact and lightweight design. It features lighter valves, rocker arms, and retainers to achieve high rpm while still returning low fuel consumption.

The rider gets a full digital instrument panel via an easy-to-read (even at night) display screen. It lights the way with powerful LED headlights and tail lights.

Every ride is smooth with its seven-step adjustable rear suspension for enhanced comfort, and handling whether on sports riding or cruising through a longer ride. 

Bringing it to a stop are a large diameter disc brakes in the front and rear, offering reliable stopping power. The tires are wide (100 mm front and 140 mm rear) for enhanced stability. The chassis has a 5-Point-Mount diamond frame which contributes to its rigidity and to return a more natural feel.

Both models come with a split style seat design for easy access to the internals. They also have dual exhaust mufflers for a sportier appearance.

The Gixxer SF 155 is priced at an SRP of P114,900 in the following colorways: Pearl Glacier White/Metallic Triton Blue and Glass Sparkle Black. Its naked brother, the Gixxer 155 is priced at an SRP of P104,900 in colors Metallic Oort Gray/Metallic Lush Green and Glass Sparkle Black. Both will be available in Suzuki dealers this October.
