The British Embassy Manila, British Chamber of Commerce Philippines, and British Council are bringing back the annual Great British Festival on Oct. 19-20, 2024, at C1 Park and BGC Amphitheater. The event celebrates growing diplomatic, trade, and cultural ties between the UK and the Philippines, coinciding with UK-Philippine Friendship Day on Oct. 20.
The festival is organized with support from partners such as AIM, Nord Anglia International School Manila, Teesside University, Swansea University, University of Hertfordshire, Middlesex University London, CATS Global School, Sheffield Hallam University, Prince of Wales Island International School, StudyGroup, AECC, Navitas, AUG Manila, IDP Education, British Council, IELTS, Study UK/Alumni UK, Chevening, UKVI, VFS, Inchcape, BSA Motorcycles, Radical Motors, Aircraft, The Borough Pizza Pub, Gridiron Shawarma X Sausage, Tao Protein, Union Jack Tavern, The Tattooed Bakers, Ginebra San Miguel, Yummy Organics, Charles Tyrwhitt, Lush, David's Salon, Marks & Spencer, Unilever, DBT, Nutrigen, HSBC, Pru Life UK, CyberQ, BDO, ASC/Drake International, Shell, BPI, PNB, Prokrate, and Manila Bulletin, one of its media partners.
BCCP executive director/trustee Chris Nelson noted that, "The Great British Festival is back again in Manila and this is a product of collaborative work with the British Embassy and the British Council to highlight the continuing growth of the UK and the Philippines. We look forward to welcoming everyone to a much bigger and exciting celebration.”
The event expects increased participation from companies and attendees across various sectors. In 2023, after a five-year hiatus, 38 British companies from financial, food and beverage, retail, auto show, business, and education sectors participated. This year's festival promises cultural performances, food and drink, an education pavilion, innovation and technology exhibits, sports and games, and business and trade activities.
