LICUAN-BAAY, Abra – Police have identified the two bodies dumped in a grassy area on the Abra-Kalinga Road in Sitio Pasigad, Barangay Bonglo, this town, on Saturday morning, October 12.
Police Lt. Jerry Granel, deputy chief of police here, identified the victims as father and son, Alex and Richard Borreta, residents of Barangay Agtangao, Bangued, Abra.
Granel said the victims sustained bullet wounds in the head and stab wounds in the neck.
Recovered from the area were two empty shells and a bullet for caliber .46 and two empty shells for a caliber 5.56 Armalite rifle.
A barangay kagawad or councilor who passed by the area discovered the bodies.
Meanwhile, a man was shot dead in Barangay Pinococ, Pinukpuk, Kalinga on Saturday, October 12.
Police identified the fatality as Fernando F. Cabuag, 56, of Barangay Accusillian, Tuao, Cagayan.
Police said the fatality and three companions were onboard a car on their way to Centro 2 in Tuao when they were shot by unidentified gunmen in Sitio Carao, Barangay Pinococ.
Cabuag’s companion, Mateo Baluyan, 62, of Barangay Cato, Tuao, was wounded.
They were taken to a hospital where Cabuag was declared dead.
Lawmen are conducting follow-up investigation on both incidents.
