'Halatang minemorize': Dela Rosa hits Espinosa's claims anew

In the eyes of former top cop Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa, Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa's testimony during the marathon hearing of the House quad-committee (quad-comm) on Friday night, Oct. 11 appeared rehearsed.

"Nagsasalita siya, halatang mine-memorize niya. Nag-iisip siya habang nagsasalita siya. Hindi spontaneous ba (When he was talking it's obvious that it's something he memorized. He's thinking while he's talking. It wasn't not spontaneous)," he said in the Usapang Senado interview over DWIZ.

"Kung talagang sa'yo yun, ikaw yun, personal experience mo yan, totoong nangyari yan, eh spontaneous ka magsalita. Eh siya nag-iisip at halatang minememorize yung sinasabi (If that was really your story, it was your personal experience, you should be spontaneous. But he was thinking and it's obvious that he memorized what he said)," he added.

Dela Rosa had earlier refuted the claims of Espinosa, who disclosed before the House quad-comm that the senator pressured him in November 2016 to implicate former senator Leila de Lima in the illegal drug trade.

In reaction, the senator called him a liar and extremely dishonest. He even stated that he would punch Espinosa in the face should they meet.

Asked if he thought someone coached Espinosa, Dela Rosa said: "Ano pa? (What else?)"

"Mag-aappear ba yan kung walang naghihikayat diyan na umattend? (Would he appear there if no one asked him to attend?)" he added.

However, Dela Rosa said that he's not interested in pursuing any legal action against Espinosa. He added that he's hoping the public would not be fooled by these accusations.

"If you go by the records, tingnan niyo kung ano yung mga nangyari before, makikita mo kung anong totoong nangyari, puro kasinungalingan yung pinagsasabi niya (If you go by the records and look at what happened before, you will see what actually happened, what he's saying are purely lies)," he added.
